RUNNING PHYSIOTHERAPY NEWCASTLE

DON'T JUST GET OUT OF PAIN.
GET BACK TO RUNNING.

Running injuries rarely happen for just one reason. We look beyond where it hurts to understand your training, strength, movement and running demands — then build a clear pathway back to running.

OUR APPROACH

MORE THAN JUST TREATING THE INJURY

Pain is only part of the picture. We look at why your running capacity and the demands of your running may no longer match — then identify what needs to change to get you back running confidently.
Your assessment may include your injury history, training load, strength, mobility, running technique and the demands of the event or distance you’re preparing for.

RUNNING INJURIES

COMMON RUNNING INJURIES WE TREAT

From a niggle that won’t settle to an injury that’s stopping you from running altogether, we assess and treat running injuries across the whole body. The goal isn’t simply to settle your symptoms — it’s to understand why the problem developed and build your capacity to run again.

Common running injuries treated by our Newcastle running physiotherapists, including knee pain, Achilles and calf injuries, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, hamstring and hip injuries, ankle pain and bone stress injuries.
NOT SURE WHAT’S CAUSING YOUR PAIN?

You don’t need to diagnose yourself. Tell us what’s happening and we’ll help work out the right next step.

RUNNING ASSESSMENT

WE LOOK AT THE RUNNER, NOT JUST THE INJURY

Your assessment goes beyond where it hurts. We look at the factors that may be contributing to your injury and the physical demands of your running — then identify what needs to change to get you back running confidently.

REHABILITATION & STRENGTH

BUILD THE CAPACITY TO RUN

Settling pain is only the beginning. Your rehabilitation is designed to progressively rebuild the strength, capacity and confidence your body needs for running.
We target the areas that matter to you — from calf and Achilles capacity to hamstring strength, hip extension and glute contribution, single-leg control and the ability to tolerate repeated running loads.

RETURN TO RUNNING

BACK TO RUNNING — WITH A PLAN

Getting you pain-free is one thing. Getting you confidently back to the running you want to do is another.
We progressively rebuild your running load based on your injury, current capacity and goals — from your first easy runs through to normal training, longer distances, hills, speed work and racing.

Progressive return-to-running plan from walk-run and easy running through building volume, hills, speed and full training

BUILDING BACK TO AN EVENT?

Whether it’s your first 5 km, a half marathon, marathon, trail race or ultra, we can help bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance.
