NETBALL INJURY PHYSIOTHERAPY NEWCASTLE

Recover Stronger. Return to Netball. Play With Confidence.

Netball is a fast-paced, physically demanding sport involving repeated jumping, landing, sprinting, pivoting and rapid changes of direction. These movements place significant demands on the knees, ankles, muscles and tendons, making both acute injuries and overuse conditions common challenges for players.

At Up N Adam Performance Training & Physiotherapy in Hamilton North, Newcastle, we understand the physical demands of netball and the importance of returning to the court with confidence.

Our physiotherapists combine detailed injury assessment, progressive rehabilitation, objective VALD strength and jump testing, and sport-specific return-to-play programs to help netball players recover and rebuild their physical capacity.

Whether you're a junior netballer, social player, local club competitor or representative athlete, we'll work with you to understand your injury and develop a rehabilitation plan suited to your playing position, training demands and goals.

Netball Injuries We Assess and Treat

Netball places considerable demands on the lower limbs through repeated jumping, landing, pivoting, acceleration, deceleration and sudden changes of direction. These movements can contribute to ligament injuries, muscle strains and tendon conditions.

At Up N Adam, we assess the injury, identify relevant strength and movement deficits, and develop an individualised rehabilitation plan that considers the demands of returning to netball.

The goal isn't simply to return to the court — it's to rebuild the strength, landing capacity, movement control and confidence needed to play netball at your best.

Ankle sprains commonly occur during landing, stepping on another player's foot and rapid changes of direction.

We assess ligament injury, ankle mobility, calf strength, balance and landing control before progressing rehabilitation towards jumping, pivoting and netball-specific movements.

For players experiencing repeated ankle sprains, we also address physical deficits that may contribute to ongoing instability.

Sudden changes of direction, pivoting and awkward landings can contribute to ACL, MCL and other knee ligament injuries, as well as meniscal injuries.

We assess knee stability, quadriceps and hamstring strength, movement control and functional performance. Using VALD strength and ForceDecks testing where appropriate, we objectively monitor rehabilitation progress and help inform return-to-netball decisions.

Repeated jumping, landing and high training loads place considerable demands on the patellar tendon.

We assess tendon loading tolerance, quadriceps strength, jumping capacity and training demands before developing a progressive strengthening and load-management program.

Our goal is to improve your capacity to tolerate jumping, landing and the physical demands of netball.

Repeated sprinting, jumping, landing and acceleration place significant demands on the Achilles tendon and calf muscles.

We assess calf strength, tendon loading tolerance, ankle mobility and functional performance before developing progressive rehabilitation involving strengthening, plyometrics and netball-specific conditioning.

Explosive acceleration, deceleration, jumping and lateral movement can contribute to hamstring, quadriceps and groin muscle injuries.

We assess muscle strength, injury severity and functional capacity before developing a progressive rehabilitation program that rebuilds strength, speed and confidence.

Catching, passing, contact and falls can contribute to shoulder injuries, wrist sprains and finger injuries.

We assess the affected structures, strength, movement and functional limitations before developing an individualised rehabilitation plan.

Where appropriate, rehabilitation progresses towards passing, catching, defending and returning to full netball participation.

Experienced physiotherapists. Personalised care.

Our physiotherapists combine sports injury assessment, progressive rehabilitation, objective strength testing and an understanding of athletic performance to help netball players recover and return to training and competition.
